The 17u Spikes made a run at the North Coast Elite Laurie Mendenhall Memorial but wound up losing a "Texas Shootout" to eventual runner-up Lake Erie Warkhawks 17u (Mezlak) in the quarter-finals. The Spikes path to the quarters was paved with four straight victories as they went 3-0 in pool games to earn the number 3 seed entering the medal rounds. Pool victories included a 3-2, seventh inning, come-from-behind thriller in the opener when the Spikes defeated the Brownlee Lookouts 17u (Anderson) on Alex Artimez' liner to left which scored the winning run at Jackson High School. Pool game two featured Perry sophomore-to-be Noah Kandel twirling a mercy-shortened, four inning no-hitter against the Jackson Bears at JHS. Pool game three saw the Spikes playing their best baseball of the season, defeating Buffalo, NY's Upper Deck Baseball 17u by a score of 10-4 at Walsh University. This game featured a 2-run bomb to left by Central Catholic's AJ Marko in the fourth inning. Marko had three RBI's on the day while GlenOak's Tyler Barker added four RBI's. Finally, the Spikes used a 9-run fifth inning to defeat the Lake Erie Warhawks 17u (Spencer) in the round of 16 at Mount Union University before bowing out later in the day.
